Job Overview:
As a General Laborer in the construction industry, you will be responsible for performing physical labor tasks on construction sites. Your role will involve various duties, such as site preparation, material handling, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, cleaning, and organizing materials to create a safe and efficient working area.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Assist skilled workers, such as carpenters, masons, and equipment operators, by providing support and following their instructions.
- Safely operate designated equipment, such as jackhammers, forklifts, and compactors, following proper training and guidelines.
- Assemble and disassemble temporary structures, such as scaffolding and bracing, under the guidance of experienced workers.
- Perform basic tasks, such as mixing and pouring concrete, digging trenches, and setting up forms for concrete pouring.
- Remove hazardous materials and potential hazards from work areas to ensure the safety of the construction site.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment, reporting any defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
- Follow established construction plans and blueprints to carry out specific tasks effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist in performing routine maintenance on construction equipment and machinery.
